CITEM champions Philippine green enterprises at SDG Asia 2026
Eco-friendly products and innovation from Philippine enterprises set foot into the Asia-Pacific market space with traceable food systems, circular design, green manufacturing, and digital solutions–all toward strengthening global supply chains.
PRESS RELEASE
Helping shape the sustainability and innovation footprint of Philippine exports, the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), the export promotion arm of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is leading an inaugural delegation of sustainability-driven enterprises to SDG Asia 2026. This 5th edition is happening from August 27-29, 2026 at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Hall 1 in Taipei, Taiwan.
Aligning with the event’s theme, “Shape our Future: Resilience, Innovation, Prosperity,” the Philippine Pavilion will feature local enterprises highlighting sustainable agriculture practices, eco-conscious food and non-food products, design and lifestyle, as well as clean technology and innovative systems. These offerings strategically align with today’s demand for global trade transparency, environmental compliance, and scalable solutions.
According to CITEM Executive Director Leah Pulido Ocampo, the participation highlights a strategic cross-border economic synergy, “By pairing our local material innovation and highly skilled, adaptable workforce with Taiwan’s leading sustainability and technology-driven infrastructures, we are positioning the Philippines as an ideal partner toward strengthening supply chain resilience across the region.”
Under CITEM’s Sustainability Solutions Exchange (SSX)—an initiative advancing green business adoption for Philippine enterprises through sustainable sourcing, eco-exhibitions, and capacity building—the following enterprises are set to demonstrate their capabilities across key sectors at SDG Asia 2026:
Agriculture, food, and bio-technology solutions: Butuan Coconut Products, Inc. (Vital); Cecilia’s Ilocos Delights Food Products (Supreme Lutong Iloko); Discovery Tea Craft, Inc. (Tsaa Laya); Kkdee Food Products Trading (Little Miss Safiya); Natureearth Corporation (M2 Veggie); Thega Coconut Farm.
Circular lifestyle and green manufacturing: Anmari’s Fashion House; Ar-Ya Aramid Inang Handicrafts Trading; Siklo Enterprises; Three Women OPC (The Eco Shift).
Green technology and digital solutions: Mapua University - DEMAF 3D Printing & Fabrications; Taxumo Inc.
Regional trade compliance and cross-border collaboration
The country’s inaugural participation at SDG Asia 2026 brings to the fore the growing potential of Philippine MSMEs to level up their overall capacity to compete in a highly standardized global market. Many of the exhibitors already demonstrate adherence to certified organic sourcing and farm-to-shelf transparency, upcycling practices toward circular systems, and verifiable ethical and community-driven operations.
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and the country's transition toward mandatory Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, CITEM aims to strengthen the regional presence of Philippine enterprises across food and non-food sectors. By helping local producers integrate verified eco-compliance into their operations, the agency enables MSMEs to build the trust, transparency, and credibility required to secure long-term partnerships in international markets.
A strong ESG mechanism in the country creates more opportunities for Philippine companies to demonstrate their market competitiveness, particularly in measuring carbon reduction, ethical labor governance, and raw material traceability. Taiwan, through its Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), requires reporting on these key measurements for sourcing partners. While in the Philippines, ESG compliance reporting is enforced by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
This year’s participation is in close collaboration with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taiwan (PTIC-Taiwan) and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO). These on-ground partners are crucial to facilitating targeted B2B matchmaking sessions, connecting Philippine delegates directly with Taiwanese procurement managers, institutional buyers, and supply chain integrators. They also help open doors to investment and joint-venture consultations through informed guidance on cross-border sourcing, technology transfer initiatives, and sustainable trade integration for the visiting delegation.
The Philippine Pavilion showcase, located at Booth 312 at Hall 1, TWTC will range from natural food and wellness products made from premium tropical ingredients like coconut, mango, and pineapple; heritage and handwoven fashion and home pieces from locally sourced natural materials; plastic-free packaging and upcycled industrial waste; to digital business solutions and disaster-risk reduction response kits for efficiency and resiliency.
Expect to see these exhibitors alongside other green movers in the next edition of Sustainability Solutions Exchange (SSX) 2026 this coming October 15-17, 2026 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC) in Pasay City, Philippines. Apart from the Conference and Exhibition, the event will feature the Startup Pitching Competition Finals.
